From time to time you’ll receive an e-mail or letter from another company asking you to provide them with a reference for a member of staff who previously worked for your company.
It’s important that if you decide to respond that you do so promptly, and confirm at the least the basics of their employment with you such as the job they performed for you and length of employment. Additionally you can include further information such as the competence of the ex-member of staff and the reasons that they left your company.
