This template works in accordance to the Immigration Act 2016, which came in to place in July 2016.
This new act increased the importance of having an up to date recruitment policy as employers from this point forwards could be heavily prosecuted and fined for employing an illegal worker, even if it’s a legitimate accident. The employer needs to have reasonable evidence to prove that they carried out sufficient checks that the new staff member has permissions to work in the UK.
Employers must now be aware that is their obligation that all of their employees to prove their right to work in the UK, even if the people they hire originate from the UK.
