Staff Squared Pulse
You may remember us announcing the launch of our in-app employee satisfaction survey feature, Pulse, at the end of last year. It was released as an MVP to gauge how much our end users wanted an eNPS system – and to our delight, it was a roaring success.
We had so many other exciting ideas for the feature that it seemed silly to try and cram them all into one small area of Staff Squared. So we went back to the drawing board to work out the best way of providing all the new functionality we had in mind without compromising the system you already know and love.
There were no two ways about it – in order to offer the absolute best that Pulse has to offer, it had to become its own platform. And so, we set to work to build Staff Squared Pulse.
With the option to create more dynamic surveys, Staff Squared Pulse is the ultimate eNPS platform.

According to a recent report, stolen, reused and weak passwords remain a leading cause of security breaches. Unfortunately, passwords are still the main (or only) way many companies protect their users.
The good news is that cybercrime is being talked about so much that 2FA awareness is quickly growing and users are demanding that the companies they do business with have improved security – and we couldn’t agree more! In fact, we believe that any software providers that don’t offer 2FA to their customers are neglecting the responsibility to protect their data.
Here at Staff Squared, we take the security of our customers’ data and the confidence that they have in us to protect their personal information very seriously. We are proud to offer 2FA, which gives Staff Squared users the trust they need and want in their HR solution.
Users now have the option to enable 2FA in their accounts, giving them more confidence than ever that their personal data is as safe as can be while it lives in Staff Squared. Setting this up couldn’t be more straightforward, either!
By simply selecting the option to ‘enable two-factor authentication’ in the dropdown menu shown below, users will be taken to a screen where they will be asked to scan a QR code.
If they don’t already have an authenticator app on their phone, it couldn’t be easier to install one. There are plenty of apps out there which can be downloaded to any iOS or Android device. Google Authenticator is a great one. Once users have scanned the code on their screen and clicked ‘continue’, they will be asked to enter a six-digit authentication code which will appear on their screens.
As soon as this code is entered, users will be asked to retrieve an authentication code each time they attempt to log in – alternatively, they can select the ‘remember me’ option at the point of login to bypass this step for 30 days on the computer they are logging into.

If your business is one of the many affected by the coronavirus outbreak and you have had to close your office to staff, you may well have asked them to work remotely during these unprecedented times. Working from home has become somewhat of a new ‘normal’ for many people across the globe as we find ourselves navigating our way through COVID-19.
Now, more than ever, it’s so important for employers to be able to keep on top of their staff absences, be it annual leave, sickness or otherwise. We wanted to do something to help employers manage their staff a little easier during this trying time, and so we bumped forward our plans to introduce a remote working feature.
Users can now request remote working without having to rely on a custom absence type as we have added a new tab to the absence booking form in your calendar.
Admins and managers can create remote working instances for their staff easily by selecting this new option in the booking form as a one-off occurrence or a repeated event. Staff will also be able to send remote working requests to their managers following the same simple steps they are used to when requesting holiday and custom absences.
With remote working now its own calendar entry, you are able to easily recognise which of your colleagues are still available while out of the office at a quick glance, as these new bookings are highlighted in lilac to stand out from other absences.
Management will receive a notification when a remote working request is submitted and will be able to approve or reject the request, sending the staff member a confirmation email once it has been processed.
You’ll also notice a new tab on your profile, where you can manage and record remote working.

Custom Title and Gender Markers
At the beginning of the year, one of our customers, Omobono, reached out to us and asked if we could add custom title and gender markers.
Change can only happen when we work together to make it so, rather than waiting around for somebody else to do something about it., and we feel humbled to have been able to work with Omobono to implement these custom options in Staff Squared and couldn’t be prouder to have been able to make such a positive change to our software.
We’re always so grateful to our customers who refer other companies to Staff Squared, and we wanted to do something to show that gratitude.

Staff Squared Roadmap
Our development team strives to provide the very best to our customers, but it can sometimes be hard for them to know what features should be prioritised in our roadmap.
With this in mind, we set to work to find the best way to both continue welcoming your feedback and also get an understanding of how in-demand your development requests are.
We wanted to find a way to give you access to our roadmap whenever you want, meaning that you can stay in the loop with our development plans and upcoming feature releases while being able to submit feedback and upvote suggestions made by other users to let us know what’s important to you.
Productboard allows you to do exactly that, and so we set up an integration which gives you access to this information at the click of a button.
The work that gets put into Staff Squared on a daily basis has to be reputed to the hard work and dedication of our developers and their wider team, but we cannot do any of what we do without you.
